This book could be read for kindergarten through sixth grade. A great activity for older grades is to read the book and then write about a way that they personally could give back to the earth. This book is about how a boy took and took and took from the giving tree his whole life and the tree was always there for him, so you could have a lesson around earth day where you teach students about giving back to the earth since it gives so much to us and then complete the activity previously described. LOVE THIS BOOK.
